The new Van Halen album, that fans have been waiting for for 20 years is finally out and making waves throughout the music world. It seems that the initial single the band released may have been a bit of a “rouse” as the response to the video was fairly indifferent.
I can only speak for myself, but I liked Tattoo when I first heard it, but I wasn’t sure how many of my friends would and that was what stressed me out a little I was certain that leading up to the release that I would get some enjoyment out of the album no matter what it sounded like. I mean Van Halen has been my favorite band since I firsts heard them in 1982. However I have to be honest I did not have very high expectations on how good the album was going to be after all these years.
I have to say….I should have my ass kicked for doubting the undisputed kings of rock and roll.
So is A Different Kind of Truth a good album. No. It is an amazing album. I have not stopped listening to this record since I purchased it….and I think I like it a little better with every new listen. The VH fan dedicated blogs and websites are buzzing with thousands of rapid van halen fans and the general feeling that I am getting is the other fans tend to agree with me.
As a matter of fact there are many VH fans blogging and tweeting that this could quite possibly be the bands BEST ALBUM EVER!
I will say, I love all the VH albums for different reasons and it would be impossible to pick one as my favorite, but right now….ADKOT is my favorite by far. I will take that one step further. This album could quite possibly be the best rock album to be released since “Appetite For Destruction”
I strongly suggest you give it a listen.
Oh, and Stay Frosty!
